Following a successful year long run at the Shaftesbury Theatre, the absurdly enjoyable Rock of Ages transfers to the Garrick Theatre. London's hot rock musical sets a swathe of classic 80's rock hits to a gritty but funny storyline, with a score featuring 28 raucous anthems including Don't Stop Believin, Wanted Dead or Alive, We Built This City, The Final Countdown, I Wanna Know What Love Is and Here I Go Again.
Set in a bar on LA’s infamous Sunset Strip in 1987, Rock of Ages tells the hilarious tale of a small town girl and a big city rocker falling in love to the greatest songs of the decade. Hungry for his big break, aspiring young rocker Drew Boley works as a busboy in a bar called the Bourbon Room. He is instantly smitten with the waitress, Sherrie, who has arrived in town from Kansas hoping to make it big as an actress. They both end up on the LA rock scene just as the legendary Hollywood venue is facing closure when two overseas developers are determined to make money by cleaning up The Strip. After the Bourbon Room is scheduled for demolition, one final money-spinning gig is planned. But can Drew really pluck up the courage to tell Sherrie how he feels about her, or will rock star Stacee Jaxx steal her heart instead?
An awesomely good time where big hair meets big dreams, Rock of Ages is an uplifting celebration of classic 80's glam rock culture.
