After an extensive UK tour and a successful limited run at the Savoy Theatre, Dreamboats and Petticoats, the rock ‘n’ roll musical based around the music of the fifties and sixties transfers to the Playhouse Theatre.

Written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the team behind Goodnight Sweetheart and Birds of a Feather, this spectacular feel-good production will take you back to a time when each passing week brought another classic track.

Set in St. Mungo’s Youth Club in Essex in 1961, teenage angst is as common as coiffured hairdos. Emotions run high as talented young musicians Norman and Bobby compete to become lead singer of the local band and, more importantly, to win the attention of the gorgeous Sue. But when Bobby discovers that gauche newcomer Laura is no slouch on the piano, love and rock ‘n’ roll fame beckons…

Dreamboats and Petticoats features an abundant selection of timeless hits from the four recently released compilation albums of the same name, including Runaround Sue, Lets Dance, To Know Him Is To Love Him, Poetry in Motion, Dream Lover, Bobby’s Girl, Three Steps To Heaven, Little Town Flirt, Happy Birthday Sweet 16, Half Way To Paradise, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, Only Sixteen, Let’s Twist Again and many more songs from music’s golden era.

The cast includes X Factor 2008 finalist Scott Bruton, former Emmerdale regular Ben Freeman and ex-Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Biddall.
