Overview

Conceived and designed by Marks Barfield Architects and launched in 2000, the London Eye is the world's highest observation wheel at 135 metres high and offers passengers amazing views of Britain's capital city. Originally intended as a temporary structure, the Eye proved so popular that it became a permanent fixture on the London skyline and a beautiful symbol of modern London.

As well as being one of the most visually striking structures in the world, the Eye offers you a new perspective on the city, taking guests on a 30 minute flight, 450 feet above the River Thames in 32 high tech fully enclosed capsules. Within each capsule, six touch screens allow you to explore the capital’s iconic landmarks in several languages. On a clear day you can see for up to 25 miles.

The London Eye represents the turning of time, celebrating London's past and looking forward to its future. It gives you the opportunity to enjoy one of the world's major cities from a totally new angle, with the 360 degree rotation offering views usually only accessible by helicopter or aeroplane. What better way to see all London has achieved than through the amazing perspectives offered by the London Eye.
