The Wizard of Oz Tickets
Andrew Lloyd Webber's production of The Wizard of Oz returns to the London Palladium to dazzle audiences once again this June starring comedian Jason Manford as as the cowardly lion, Diversity dancer Ashley Banjo as the tin man in his West End musical debut and Palladium legend Gary Wilmot as the wizard and Professor Marvel.
Based on the original children's novel by L. Frank Baum and inspired by the famous 1939 MGM movie starring Judy Garland, this new full length musical is a captivating adaptation of the all time classic, totally reconceived for the stage. As well as Arlen and Harburg's Oscar winning score, including the much-loved songs Over the Rainbow, We’re Off to See the Wizard, Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead and Follow the Yellow Brick Road, the production features additional songs specially composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.
The Wizard of Oz tells the story of 12-year old Kansas farm girl Dorothy Gale, who suddenly finds herself stranded in the Land of Oz after being knocked unconscious during a cyclone. After meeting Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, Dorothy learns that in order to return home she must travel along the yellow brick road to the mythical Emerald City to seek the help of the fearsome Wizard of Oz. On her journey, she encounters and befriends a Scarecrow wanting a brain, a Tin woodsman wanting a heart and a cowardly Lion wanting courage. Convinced that the wizard can assist them, they travel the perilous road together successfully negotiating all obstacles in their path. The only thing that stands in their way is the Wicked Witch of the West and her winged monkeys, desperate to steal Dorothy’s magic ruby slippers.
So don your sparkly red shoes, click your heels together and join Dorothy and her little dog Toto, the scarecrow, the tin man and the cowardly lion as they journey through Oz to meet the legendary wizard and obtain their heart’s desires.
