Overview
Based on real-life testimonials and fictional characters, Nadia Fall's new play Welcome to Iran offers a tender and witty snapshot of modern life in Tehran receives its world premiere at the Theatre Royal Stratford East this April. Directed by the playwright herself, it's a story which aims to create an alternative view of an often-misunderstood country.
After the death of her estranged father, twenty-something Londoner Ava journeys to Iran in search of his past and her extended family. Exploring the rich culture and thriving art scene, Ava is swept into a world of illicit raves, raids and forbidden love, all whilst negotiating family politics, Tehran traffic and the morality police.
Following its Stratford run, Welcome to Iran will transfer to the National Theatre for a limited season.

The theatre is wheelchair accessible. There are six wheelchair spaces in the auditorium and lifts to the upper level.
Assistance dogs and guide dogs are welcome in the auditorium.
