Venus in Fur Tickets
Game of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer and David Oakes star in the West End premiere of David Ives’ critically acclaimed dark comedy, Venus in Fur. Directed by Patrick Marber, the production opens in October and runs for a strictly limited nine week season at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.
In a stark rehearsal studio in downtown Manhattan, brash and pushy actress Vanda Jordan appears unannounced for an audition with exasperated and arrogant director Thomas Novachek. Despite appearing completely unsuited for the part, she's determined to land the leading role in his new adaptation of the 1870 novel Venus in Furs by the Austrian author Leopold von Sacher-Masoch.
Over the course of an evening their charged reading of the script becomes an intricate battle of wills and an erotic tango for dominance as the lines between reality and fantasy are blurred and the power balance between them flips and skews along with the unfolding on-stage drama.
