Overview

For the first time, the National Theatre stages Lyndsey Turner's critically acclaimed revival of Caryl Churchill's seminal 1982 feminist play Top Girls.

Set during the heyday of Thatcherism in the early 1980s, Top Girls follows hard-nosed power-dressing businesswoman Marlene who is hosting a raucous dinner party for iconic women from history to celebrate her promotion to Managing Director of the Top Girls Employment Agency. With Maggie in at Number 10 and a spirit of optimism consuming the country, Marlene knows that the future belongs to women like her.

This poignant and thought-provoking drama examines the challenges faced by working women, the compromises and sacrifices they make in their quest for success and whether feminism and capitalism can ever be squared.

The theatre is wheelchair accessible. There are four spaces for wheelchair users and transfer seating is available to aisle seats.

An infrared system with headsets is available for the hard of hearing.

Guide dogs are allowed in the auditorium next to an aisle seat or can be looked after by front-of-house staff.
