Overview

Katy Rudd directs Joel Horwood's mesmerising adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s best-selling 2013 novel The Ocean at the End of the Lane as it returns to the West End this October for seven weeks only. This spellbinding and thrilling production is a theatrical tour de force of imagination and evocative storytelling.

Returning to his hometown for a funeral, a man revisits the old Sussex farmhouse where he and his sister grew up. Behind the house of his old friend Lettie Hempstock is a mysterious pond which Lettie always insisted was an ocean, not a pond...

Remembering long forgotten incidents from his past, the man is transported back to his childhood forty years earlier. Plunged into a magical world, his survival depends on his ability to reckon with ancient forces that threaten to destroy everything around him.
