The Mikado Tickets
Almost 30 years on from its premiere, Jonathan Miller’s international blockbuster production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s comic masterpiece returns to the London Coliseum.
Moving the action from the Japanese town of Titipu to an ever-so English grand seaside hotel, Miller’s Marx Brothers-inspired song-and-dance Mikado is a popular hit with audiences of all ages. Complete with high-kicking chorus lines, sparkling wit and exuberantly glitzy 1930s set and costumes, the large cast of colourful characters ensure the action is brimful of theatrical delights as jealous Katisha's attempts to thwart the young love between Yum-Yum and Nanki-Poo go hilariously awry.
Fergus Macleod makes his company debut conducting a score packed with familiar tunes.
Sung in English with lyrics projected above the stage.
