The Glass Menagerie Tickets
Broadway icon Cherry Jones leads the cast in John Tiffany's acclaimed revival of Tennessee Williams' heart-rending masterpiece, The Glass Menagerie as it opens in the West End in January for a strictly limited 13 week season.
Set in St. Louis in the 1930's, Tom Wingfield tells the story - as he remembers it - of the strained relationship between him, his aging and overbearing mother Amanda and his cripplingly shy sister Laura.
In the absence of her husband, faded Southern Belle Amanda is struggling to raise her two children in a dingy apartment and is surviving on fragile hopes and dreams. It is Tom who must support the family and help find a husband for his sister, but he is torn between his obligations and his intense desire to break away and leave behind his job at a shoe warehouse and his oppressive life at home.
