Sister Act Tickets
Oscar winning actress Whoopi Goldberg reprises her original role as Deloris Van Cartier alongside BAFTA award winner Jennifer Saunders in the role of Mother Superior in Bill Buckhurst's new production of smash hit musical comedy Sister Act. Based on the iconic 1992 movie, Sister Act will raise the roof at the Eventim Apollo for a strictly limited run of just 39 performances from July 2020.
When lounge singer Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a gangland killing she is placed in protective custody in the one place the police are sure she won’t be found - a convent! Disguised as a nun, the diva finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and an uptight Mother Superior.
Using her singing talent and unique disco moves to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life and soul into the church and community, but in doing so blows her cover and endangers her life. Soon the gangsters are on her tail, only to find themselves up against Deloris and the power of her new found sisterhood.
Featuring dazzling choreography, funky songs inspired by Motown, soul and disco and an orginal score by eight time Academy Award winner Alan Menken, Sister Act is a tribute to the universal power of friendship which promises to be a feel good hit that will have you laughing and singing in the aisles.
Please note that Brenda Edwards will play the role of Deloris Van Cartier for Thursday matinee performances.
