Lyndsey Turner's superb production of Posh, Laura Wade's provocative play about class, wealth and privilege, transfers to the the Duke of York’s Theatre as part of the Royal Court Theatre's 2012 West End season. A sell-out show in 2010 prior to the general election, it is currently being adapted into a feature film for Blueprint Pictures.
In an burgundy walled, oak-panelled private room in an Oxfordshire country pub, ten sneering undergraduates with cut-glass vowels and deep pockets are meeting for their termly dinner, intent on getting well and truly chateaued before wrecking the premises. Members of an elitist student dining society, the boys are bunkering down for a wild night of debauchery, decadence and bloody good wine. But this isn't just a jolly: they're planning a revolution against the working classes and the hoi polloi, intent on restoring the respect due to them as a birthright. Welcome to the Riot Club.
