Following on from the sumptuously sexy Casanova, choreographer and former Northern Ballet dancer Kenneth Tindall premieres his second full-length ballet, Geisha.
Based on a remarkable true story, Geisha is the haunting tale of Okichi and Aiko, two young women bound by vows of friendship but trapped in a patriarchal world of duty and sacrifice. Their lives are painfully torn apart by a clash between East and West, and when encounters from beyond the grave unleash an unexpected vengeance on their world an act of true devotion offers the only chance for redemption.
Set to a newly commissioned score from award-winning composer Alexandra Harwood and with sumptuous set and costume designs by Christopher Oram, unravel the mysteries of Geisha as their world of beauty, duty and honour is brought vividly to life on stage.
Please note that this production may contain short periods of flashing and strobe lighting effects.
