Overview

Her carpet bag is packed, her umbrella is unfurled, and the world's most magical nanny is about to alight on London's musical stage once again! Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s multi award-winning musical Mary Poppins returns to its original West End home at the Prince Edward Theatre from October 2019 starring Zizi Strallen and Charlie Stemp.

Pamela Travers' enchanting stories filled with eccentric and perceptive characters have delighted every generation since they first appeared in the 1930's. The witty, imaginative books and many of the much-loved Sherman Brothers classic songs from Walt Disney's Academy Award-winning 1964 motion picture, have been re-invented and created afresh by Oscar-winning writer Julian Fellowes and Olivier Award-winning songwriters George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. Several terrific new songs have been added to the unforgettable score which includes A Spoonful of Sugar, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, Let's Go Fly a Kite and Feed the Birds.

England, 1910. Is it Jane and Michael Banks who need a nanny? Or is it their parents, George and Winifred who actually need more looking after? Only one thing is certain - after practically perfect nanny Mary Poppins arrives at 17 Cherry Tree Lane with her no-nonsense approach to making the right choices in life, nothing will ever be the same again.

With dazzling choreography and incredible special effects, Richard Eyre, Matthew Bourne and Stephen Mear will bring to life the most famous nanny in an extraordinary and visually magical world created by Bob Crowley - a world where anything can happen if you let it!
