Overview

Adam Spreadbury-Maher's critically acclaimed production of Kevin Elyot's groundbreaking first play Coming Clean returns to Trafalgar Studios 2 in January 2020 for a strictly limited four week season.

Set in a grubby flat in Kentish Town, north London in the early 1980s, Coming Clean follows struggling writer Tony and his partner of five years, Greg, who seem to have love all sussed out. They're in a committed relationship, but are both open to a little sex on the side whenever it takes their fancy as long as it doesn’t impinge on the relationship and they never sleep with the same man twice.

But Tony is starting to yearn for something deeper, and when young drop-dead gorgeous cleaner Robert walks into their lives, the fragile foundations of their sexual contract are thrown into jeopardy. As Greg begins a full-blown affair with Robert, their differing attitudes towards love and commitment become clear.

Thought provoking, funny, frank and packed with razor-sharp wit, Coming Clean questions the nature of relationships and examines complex questions of fidelity and love.

Please note that this show features full frontal nudity and real tobacco smoke. It is not recommended for children under 16 years of age.
