A Christmas Carol Tickets
Following sell-out runs in 2012, 2013 and 2016, Simon Callow once again returns to the West End stage to star in Tom Cairns' adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol for another strictly limited season this December.
Based on the author’s own performing adaptation of the novel, the heartwarming production is a one man theatrical extravaganza of total story-telling: phantasmagoric, hilarious, heart-breaking, visionary, a celebration of goodness, a plea for justice and a promise of redemption.
In this show, the acclaimed actor not only plays the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge but more than 40 other characters as well; among them Jacob Marley, Scrooge's dead business partner, and the members of the Cratchit family. As the Ghosts spirit Scrooge from his past to his present to his future, Dickens plunges the audience cinematically from the miser's comfortless dank and creaking house to riotous festivities, from cosy hearths to eerily silent graveyards. And all the time the author's voice, tender, savage, magisterial, is present.
A Christmas Carol is the perfect yuletide treat for all ages, offering a wonderful opportunity to rediscover this timeless festive story.
