Overview

David Suchet, Brendan Coyle, Adrian Lukis and Sara Stewart star in Jonathan Church's acclaimed fiftieth anniversary production of Arthur Miller’s The Price as it transfers from a sell-out run at the Theatre Royal Bath for a strictly limited twelve week season in the West End.

Two long-estranged brothers meet for the first time in sixteen years to divide their family possessions which are stored in the attic of a condemned New York brownstone. Victor is a bitter soon-to-retire New York cop who sacrificed his college place to look after their father ruined by the Great Depression while Walter Franz managed to escape and become a wealthy and successful surgeon.

Overseeing the sibling reunion fraught with resentment is canny octogenarian antiques dealer Gregory Solomon, intent on securing the best possible price for the Franz family possessions. Surrounded by a mountain of mementoes, the brothers pick over their father's furniture and their own memories, each realising the price they have paid for life changing personal decisions made decades earlier.

Please note this production includes the smoking of real cigarettes and cigars.
