Overview

Golden Globe, Olivier and Evening Standard Award winner Tom Hiddleston stars in Jamie Lloyd’s revival of Harold Pinter's modern classic, Betrayal which runs for a strictly limited season at the Harold Pinter Theatre from March 2019. He will be joined by Zawe Ashton and Charlie Cox.

Art gallery owner Emma has had a 7 year affair with literary agent Jerry, her husband's best friend and best man. Pinter’s fraught play is told in reverse chronological order over a period of nine years and begins with what would traditionally be its final scene, with Emma and Jerry meeting two years after the conclusion of their affair as Emma’s marriage to Robert is finally crumbling. Each scene of this compelling masterpiece moves back in time to the fateful moment when the illicit infidelity begins, taking the audience back through a series of events which lead the protagonists to their unhappy conclusions.

Accessible, emotional, elegant and menacing, this story of the ultimate love triangle is a gripping study of adultery and widely considered to be one of Pinter's finest works.

This play is not recommended for children under the age of 12.
