Matthew Warchus directs The Crown stars Claire Foy and Matt Smith as they make their Old Vic debuts in a limited run of Duncan Macmillan’s hilarious and thought provoking play Lungs.
Poignant, emotionally harrowing, uproariously funny and bleak, Lungs follows a thirtysomething, educated couple named only as M and W, who reflect on the moral implications of having children in today’s world, where overpopulation, terrorism, political unrest and climate change disaster loom large.
They want to have a child for the right reasons. Except, what exactly are the right reasons? And what will be the first to destruct - the planet or their relationship?
