Overview

Rebecca Frecknall's re-imagining of Kander and Ebb's musical masterpiece Cabaret has extended its run at the Playhouse Theatre until June 2024. The musical currently stars Scissor Sister Jake Shears as the enigmatic Emcee alongside singer Rebecca Lucy Taylor in the role played by Liza Minelli in the Oscar-winning 1972 film.

In pre-war Berlin of 1931, the Kit Kat Klub is a dark and sexually charged haven of decadence, its extraordinary and morally ambiguous inhabitants determined to keep up appearances as the real world - the world outside the comfortable sanctuary of the cabaret - prepares for the nightmarish chaos of war.

First premiered on Broadway in 1966, Cabaret's stage and screen awards include 8 Oscars, 7 BAFTA's, 7 Olivier Awards and 13 Tony Awards. With show-stopping choreography and dazzling costumes, the show also features some of the most iconic songs in musical theatre including Money Makes The World Go Round, Two Ladies, Wilkommen, Maybe This Time and, of course, Cabaret.

In a time when the world is changing forever, there is one place where everyone can be free…join the legendary Sally Bowles live at the Kit Kat Klub: a shimmering masterpiece of a show guaranteed night after night! It's divine decadence darling!

Please note that this show is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
