The Bodyguard a step closer?

It would seem plans for the much talked about musical adaptation of The Bodyguard are moving closer with Theatreland rumour suggesting that Thea Sharrock is being lined up to direct.

Despite speculation that X Factor winner Alexandra Burke was being considered to follow in Whitney Houston’s footsteps in the role of Rachel Marron, the smart money is now on Broadway diva Heather Hadley.

The 2000 Tony Award winner for Aida who has also appeared as Nala in The Lion King stateside, is alleged to have recently taken part in readings which took place in New York.
