Overview
Following a sell-out season at Stratford's Courtyard Theatre, the RSC's enchanting production of Roald Dahl's much-loved story Matilda transfers to the bright lights of the West End in this brand new musical version by Dennis Kelly and award-winning comic Tim Minchin.
The ignorant parents of Matilda Wormwood have no interest in their daughter and regard her as nothing but a nuisance. She spends much of her time alone reading books from the library while they watch television and her father sells dodgy used cars on the side. A bright but rebellious child, school offers little sanctuary as monstrous Head Teacher Miss Trunchbull rules with a rod of iron, terrifying the teachers and punishing the downtrodden children for the most trivial of reasons. But with the support of her lovely teacher Miss Honey, Matilda discovers she has a very special power and decides it's time to get her own back and teach the grown-ups a lesson. Be warned, the children are revolting...

Access
Wheelchair access is through the entrance to the foyer through 2 sets of double swing doors. Please let Box Office staff know that you have arrived. Transfer seating is available for up to 4 wheelchair users and 2 scooter users. The wheelchairs and scooters can be stored and will be retrieved by an usher. Each wheelchair or scooter user must be accompanied by a helper.
An infra-red system is available for the hard of hearing. You will be asked to sign a receipt.
Guide dogs are not allowed inside the auditorium, but staff are happy to dog-sit for 4 dogs per performance in the manager’s office.
