Death and the Maiden Tickets
Hollywood actress Thandie Newton stars alongside Tom Goodman-Hill and Anthony Calf in Jeremy Herrin's revival of Death and the Maiden, Chilean playwright Ariel Dorfman's explosive psychological thriller.
Years have passed since former political prisoner Paulina Salas was blindfolded, tortured and raped in a military detention centre by members of the old fascist regime. Her unknown captors included a sadistic doctor whose face she never saw, but whose voice she can still recall with terrifying clarity.
One night, Paulina’s husband Gerardo is brought home to their secluded beach house by a stranger after his car breaks down during a storm. The man, calling himself Dr Miranda, possesses a chillingly familiar voice.... Convinced he was her tormentor, Paulina takes him captive in a bid to extract a confession and determine the truth.
