Overview

Following his smash hit production of A Streetcar Named Desire, director Benedict Andrews brings his revival of Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer Prize-winning classic Cat on a Hot Tin Roof to London's West End for a strictly limited twelve week run. Brimming with trademark emotional intensity and insightful wit, this is a bold new staging of a timeless family portrait starring Sienna Miller and Jack O’Connell.

Set on a cotton plantation on the Mississippi Delta, a powerful and tempestuous Southern family gathers at a sixty-fifth birthday celebration for patriarch Big Daddy Pollitt who is unaware he is dying of cancer. In a calculating and manipulative attempt to secure their part of his enormous fortune, family members decide to hide the truth about his diagnosis from him and his wife, Big Mama.

As tensions mount between brothers Brick and Gooper, trouble is also brewing between alcoholic ex-football hero Brick and his beautiful but feisty wife Maggie. As their troubled relationship comes to a stormy climax, a shockwave of secrets is finally revealed as hypocrisy, greed, lies and secret passions threaten to tear the family apart.
