Casey Nicholaw’s hit Broadway production of Disney's Aladdin opens in London's West End this summer starring rising British actor Dean John-Wilson as Aladdin and former Sugababes singer Jade Ewen as Princess Jasmine.
Set in the Arabian sultanate of Agrabah, Aladdin is the story of a homeless street urchin who ends up falling for a princess. Swindled by the wicked sorcerer Jafar, his life is changed immeasurably when he stumbles across a wish granting genie trapped in an oil lamp in the Cave of Wonders. But Jafar has other plans for Aladdin, the genie and Jasmine.
With music and lyrics by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, the stage musical features all the songs from the Academy Award-winning 1992 animated film including Arabian Nights, A Whole New World and Friend Like Me alongside new songs specially written for the show.
A live orchestra, over 350 magnificent costumes, stunning sets from multi-award-winning designer Bob Crowley and breathtaking special effects come together to create a dazzling and unmissable musical.
Please note that this production contains theatrical smoke and fog effects, pyrotechnics, strobe lighting and loud noises. There will also be an auditorium blackout of 8 seconds around 45 minutes into the performance.
