Overview

James Macdonald's new production of Edward Albee's landmark 1962 play Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? arrives in the West End starring Imelda Staunton and Conleth Hill.

Late one evening after a university faculty party, associate professor of history George and his wife Martha invite new biology professor Nick and his wife Honey to stop by for a nightcap. Late night pleasantries and fun and games turn into psychological and emotional brutalizing as the unwitting young couple are drawn into George and Martha's bitter and toxic relationship, and before the night is through there are disturbing self-revelations and devastating truth-telling for all.

This enduring masterpiece of American drama combines the banal, the vulgar and the poetic to create a harrowing theatrical experience of brilliant depth and pathos that is ultimately unforgettable.

Please note that this production contains strong language and adult themes.
