Overview

Tower Bridge has stood over the River Thames in London since 1894 and is one of the finest, most recognisable bascule bridges in the world.

Visit Tower Bridge Exhibition and learn about the colourful and fascinating history of the bridge from Victorian times to the present day. See how it works, discover how and why it was built through films and interactive displays and visit the Victorian engine rooms, home to the original steam engines that used to power the bridge lifts.

From the walkways you can admire the stunning views across the city to Westminster and down the Thames to Docklands. The specially designed windows give visitors a unique opportunity to take photos of the spectacular views without them being obscured by glass while the spectacular glass floors across the bridge’s high-level walkways offer visitors a never-seen-before view of London life from 42 metres above the River Thames.

No guide accompanies this tour, although Tour Guides are on hand to answer any questions and assist visitors.
