John Tiffany's meticulous production of Once, this year’s surprise winner of 8 Tony Awards including best musical, arrives at London's Phoenix Theatre from March 2013 following the end of Blood Brothers' 21-year run at the theatre.
Set in Dublin and based on the Oscar-winning film, Once tells the story of an Irish busker and a young Czech immigrant drawn together by their shared love of music and songwriting. Over the course of one fateful week, their unexpected friendship and collaboration evolves into a powerful but complicated romance, heightened by the raw emotion of the songs they create together.
Brought to the stage by an award-winning team of visionary artists and featuring an ensemble cast of gifted actor/musicians, the show features all of the magical songs from the original film, including the Academy Award-winning Falling Slowly.Once is an original and irresistibly joyous celebration of love, friendship and music.
