American star Christian Slater returns to the West End stage in a darkly comic modern thriller based on George Huang's cult 1994 film, Swimming With Sharks.
Adapted by playwright Michael Lesslie, Swimming With Sharks is an incisive look into the cut-throat world of Hollywood. Slater plays irresistible but incendiary movie producer Buddy Ackerman, one of Hollywood’s most powerful men and the boss from hell.
Blinded by the promise of a fast track up the career ladder, eager and idealistic would-be screenwriter Guy finds himself serving as Buddy’s personal slave, doing everything from getting him coffee to getting him laid. But movie making is not for the faint hearted, and as he doggedly endures Buddy’s tantrums and relentless abuse, Guy realises that if he’s going to rise to the top, then he'll need to play by Buddy's rules; and Buddy plays dirty.........
The cast also includes Helen Baxendale and Matt Smith.
