David Haig, Patricia Hodge, Toby Stephens and Fiona Glascott lead the company in a new revival of William Wycherley's dazzling Restoration comedy, The Country Wife.
The play tells the story of Horner, a notorious and lascivious man-about-town and his ingenious scheme for the rampant and mass seduction of the women of London society. By spreading the false rumour of his own impotence, he gains the sympathy of the husbands of the town and, more importantly, free access to their wives.
Meanwhile the newly-married Pinchwife desperately attempts to keep his naïve country bride from the clutches of predatory London bachelors. Howevere, when she and Horner meet, events spiral out of his control...

Access There are no steps to the auditorium through the exit doors either side of the main entrance. There is one wheelchair space and transfer seating is available to any aisle seat. Wheelchair users should be accompanied by a non-wheelchair using companion.
Guide dogs are not allowed into the auditorium, but a staff member can look after them.
At present there are no facilities for the hearing impaired.
