London's Shaftesbury Theatre hosts Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman's multi-Tony Award-winning production of Hairspray starring Michael Ball and Mel Smith.

Based on John Waters' 1988 film of the same name, the show is set in 1960's Baltimore and follows the fortunes of "pleasantly plump" Baltimore teenager Tracy Turnblad, who is transformed overnight from outsider to teen celebrity when she wins a spot on the local TV dance programme, the Corny Collins Dance Show.

Tracy's next mission is to vanquish the programme's reigning princess, win the love of heartthrob Link Larkin, and integrate a television show - all without denting her 'do!
