A brand new production of Fiddler on the Roof, one of the best loved stage and screen musicals, opens at London’s Savoy Theatre for a limited season starring Henry Goodman.
Set in Tsarist Russia in 1905, it tells the story of Tevye, a dairyman and old-fashioned father who dreams of seeing his daughters married in the traditional Jewish manner. However, revolution is in the air and the young follow their hearts and not the advice of their fathers....
When his daughters refuse the matchmaker's advice and marry for love instead, Tevye must choose between their happiness and preserving his beloved traditions.
Based on the stories of Russian author Sholem Aleichem, this uplifting and heartfelt tale is directed by Lindsay Posner and features favourite songs including Tradition, Matchmaker, Matchmaker and the unforgettable If I Were a Rich Man.
