Transferring from the Tricycle Theatre for a deserved West End run, Patrick Barlow's adaptation of John Buchan's gripping spy thriller, The 39 Steps, comes to the Criterion Theatre with the original cast of Rupert Degas, Charles Edwards and Simon Gregor. Rachel Pickup takes over from Catherine McCormack.
Barlow’s adaptation is performed by just four actors playing a minimum of 150 roles, and promises to be as exciting as anything previously seen on screen, including every memorable scene from the Hitchcock film: the chase on the Flying Scotsman, the escape on the Forth Bridge, the death defying finale at the London Palladium and the first theatrical bi-plane crash!
Nothing will be cut from this spectacular premiere of Britain’s most spellbinding thriller which promises to be the most astonishing theatrical tour de force of the year.
