This excursion run by Premium Tours is a complete full day tour of London including the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, the Changing of the Guard, Thames River Cruise and a flight on the London Eye.
Itinerary
After the morning pick ups the coach departs Victoria and drives through the very heart of central London past some of the key landmarks including Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament and The London Eye before driving along the Embankment with great views of The River Thames.
The coach proceeds to the Tower of London where guests will experience a private guided tour of the world heritage site by a Yeoman Warder before it opens to the public. See the Crown Jewels before enjoying some free time to explore on your own to explore Traitors Gate, the armouries and the Bloody Tower.
Departing the Tower, the coach heads on a panoramic drive to The Mall to watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony as one of the Queens Foot Guard Household Regiments march from St. James Palace to Buckingham Palace to military music dressed in their world famous tunics and busbies. If the Changing of the Guard is not taking place you will still see Buckingham Palace and then visit the Horse Guards Parade.
Next guests will enjoy a short cruise on the River Thames with excellent views of St. Pauls Cathedral and Shakespeares Globe before heading for a traditional pub lunch on the Southbank. Please note that food and drink is not included in the price of the excursion.
After lunch the tour continues to Westminster Abbey with its unique pageant of British history - the Confessors Shrine, the tombs of the Kings and Queens, and countless memorials to the famous and the great. A professional guide will take you through this architectural masterpiece that has been the setting for every Coronation since 1066 and for numerous Royal occasions. If the Abbey is closed at weekends due to services, guests will instead take a walking tour of Parliament Square with photo stops at Big Ben and Downing Street.
Lastly you will experience a flight on the British Airways London Eye, the world's highest observation wheel towering 135 metres above the centre of London and offering magnificent panoramic views.
Departure Point
Premium Tours offers coach pick-up from all major central London hotels. For those not requiring pick-up, the tour departs from Victoria Coach Station.
