Lindsay Duncan and Jeremy Northam star in Howard Davies' highly anticipated revival of Noël Coward’s classic farce, Hay Fever, which will play a limited West End season at the refurbished and renamed Noël Coward Theatre next year.
Set in the 1920's, the story centres around the eccentric Bliss family who live an idyllic, bohemian life in the country. Judith, a recently retired stage actress, David, a self-absorbed novelist, and their two equally unconventional and precocious children live in a world where reality slides easily into fiction. When each member of the family invites an unwitting guest for the weekend without warning the others, comedic chaos ensues as the visitors become pawns in the family’s emotional, madcap games. Misjudged meetings, secret seductions and scandalous revelations all run riot at the most outrageous of all house parties.
