Joseph Fiennes stars as George in this major new production of John Osborne and Anthony Crieghton's Epitaph for George Dillon, a domestic and political drama of hope and disillusionment set in a lower middle class household in South London waiting for the Sixties to happen.
The Elliots live their unhappy suburban life until Kate Elliot brings home a surrogate for her son killed in war, the charismatic and bohemian George Dillon. An aspiring actor and penniless writer recently freed from the contraints of employment, his fall is cushioned by her kindness and generosity. But while Kate thinks of George as a son, her attractive divorced sister and two single daughters have different ideas....
The superb cast also includes Francesca Annis and Anne Reid.
