This excursion run by Premium Tours is a full day tour encompassing ancient Stonehenge and the City of Bath. It runs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and includes entrance to Stonehenge and a private torchlit champagne reception in the Roman Baths.
Located in the middle of Salisbury Plain, Stonehenge is unique among stone circles. The first stone was placed here 5000 years ago and finally completed 1400 years later. Its construction still defies belief and centuries later the structure still haunts the surrounding Wiltshire countryside.
Learn about the mysteries of Stonehenge, the origin of the structure and what its purpose might have been and marvel at this remarkable and mysterious feat of ancient engineering and design.
The tour takes a lunch stop in the second oldest pub in Britain before heading on towards Bath, the countryside changing from the bleak and barren Salisbury Plain to the fertile and beautiful landscape of Wiltshire and Somerset. Regency Bath is a world heritage site offering a wealth of elegant stone buildings with terraces, crescents and graceful squares.
Following a guided tour of the city, there will be plenty of time to shop, explore, have afternoon tea in the Georgian Pump Room or visit Bath Abbey and Pulteney Bridge overlooking the river Avon. As the sun sets, the tour moves on to the magnificent original Roman Baths where you will enjoy an exclusive champagne reception. Explore the baths on your own or relax and soak up the atmosphere.
Departure Point Premium Tours offers coach pick-up from all major central London hotels. For those not requiring pick-up, the tour departs from Victoria Coach Station.
